Eagle Grocery, nestled in downtown Eagle Pass just three blocks away from the Rio Grande and a short jaunt across the border bridge to Piedras Negras has weathered some tough times since it first opened its doors in 1939.
The family grocery store offers staples popular in Mexico, including a full-service meat counter. It survived a devastating flood in 1954, a fire in 1957 and a huge Mexican currency devaluation in the early 1980s that hit Eagle Pass hard as well. ....
