The seller was an LLC that paid $800,000 for the 4.8-acre property, located at 1406 Brick Church Pike and home to a Motel 6, in November 2017. Martin Management (also called Martin Automotive Group) owns and operates Downtown Hyundai and Downtown Subaru in Midtown at 1512 Broadway after having in 2011 purchased the Jim Reed Subaru and Jim Reed Hyundai businesses. The Post reported in February 2020 that Houston-based developer Hines eventually will acquire the roughly 11.1-acre site (a building located on the property is pictured) from the Reed family in a deal that could be valued at more than $100 million. Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced Monday that his office has obtained a default judgment against Martin Management Group LLC and its owner and operator Steven Martin. Martin Management, previously operating out of Springfield, purported to provide timeshare-relief services to people across the country. “Protecting Missouri’s consumers is one of my most important duties as Attorney General, and my Office’s Consumer Protection Section works around the clock to fulfill that duty,” said Attorney General Schmitt. “I’m pleased that my Office was able to obtain a default judgment against Steve Martin and Martin Management, and we will work diligently to ensure that Missourians who were scammed are refunded. It’s important for Missourians to remember, especially when dealing with timeshares, that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” ....
