It s been almost a week since Thelma Marie Leake died on I-385.Her sister and niece tell WYFF4 they’re coming to terms with the fact that she’s gone.“Once I found out I just literally lost it,” said Cathryn Canada, “Like, me and my sister - we were inseparable.”Canada, 45, said her big sister was a people person.“Once (anyone) meet her, they’re no longer my best friends or my friends - they were her friends!” she said.The 48-year-old died in a wrong-way crash on I-385 early Friday morning while on her way to work.Her niece, Brittney Shaw, 31, said Aunt Thelma loved accessories and home décor, but most of all, she loved her family. “I’m just gonna miss her,” said Shaw, “It’s gonna be different. Updated: 11:16 PM EST Feb 3, 2021 Two people were shot at an apartment complex Wednesday afternoon in Greenville, according to Greenville police Lt. Alia Paramore.The shooting happened around 1:18 p.m. at the Velo Verdae apartments off Verdae Boulevard, Paramore said.According to Paramore, police responded to a disturbance involving a weapon.When police arrived they found a man and a woman who had been shot, Paramore said.Video from Sky 4 showed several police cars and a large part of the parking lot with crime scene tape.(Video above: Sky 4 over the scene about 1:45 p.m.)According to Paramore, both were transported to the hospital, their conditions are unknown.A person who lives at the complex said he heard about eight gunshots in the parking lot. According to Paramore, criminal charges against the suspect are pending.Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 23-CRIME.
