District Admin Srinagar to start Community Triaging for effective Covid-19 management

The Deputy Commissioner said Community Triag teams will help in the decentralisation and providing better supervision of Covid-19 management at zone-level. He said these teams will keep check on Covid-19 positive cases in their respective localities and examine the severity of cases for further advice by the experts of the team including a professional attempt to reduce the psychogenic load of disease on an infected individual.
In addition, the Community Triaging Team will be provided a Target list in coordination with Covid-19 Control Room, DC observed.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the CMO Srinagar to ensure that Community Triaging begins from May 12. He also shared a checklist of parameters regarding Community Triaging for its effective and prompt functioning. The CMO was further asked to share details of consultants with respective Community Triaging Teams to ensure timely treatment to the patients. ....

SRINAGAR: As Jammu and Kashmir continues to be under lockdown following a steep rise in Covid-19 cases, the district administration of Srinagar today changed the schedule for essential shopping in the capital city. Now the shopping of listed items can take place for four hours ending at 12 noon.

Official warning against walking on icy Dal Lake


 
Srinagar: Due to freezing temperatures many water bodies in the Valley, including the world famous Dal Lake, have frozen. Aamir Ali, Nodal Officer State Emergency Operation Centre, Srinagar, said that moving on this thin layer of ice, particularly on the Dal Lake, is very risky and can result in slips, falls, fractures and fatal injuries.
He said that when the thickness of ice is less than 4 inches, it is very unsafe to walk on it and the ice can break, resulting in drowning. He said that there are many springs inside Dal Lake and the ice is very thin at these spots and it’s difficult to spot these locations while walking or playing on the ice surface. He said that Mr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, District Magistrate/Chairman District Disaster Management Authority, Srinagar has issued an advisory to dissuade people from walking, playing or moving on frozen Dal Lake, as it is unsafe, dangerous & potentially life threatening and that action will be initiated against anyone ....

Arrangements Put In Place As Per Health Ministry Guidelines For Foreign Travellers Testing Positive: DDMA


SRINAGAR: District Disaster Management Authority, Srinagar has put in place arrangements as per ICMR guidelines pursuant to foreign travellers testing positive for Covid-19 on arrival at Srinagar which includes institutional quarantine and other logistics arrangements. Guidelines have been notified for Covid-19 containment in view of new cases.
