UNM to provide students opportunities to develop skills and form friendships through virtual exchange developed with support from the Stevens Initiative

Over two years, 1,500 students across all 15 institutions in Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, including at The University of New Mexico, will participate in a virtual exchange supported by the Initiative under Connected Classrooms.
“At the core of Connected Classrooms is a desire to forge meaningful, equitable partnerships between institutions in Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States through virtual exchange. While the Stevens Initiative provides the support and framework to make virtual exchange sustained on their campuses, these new institutions – including their faculty, administrators, and students – are collectively championing this effort. They are the true leaders and we’re humbled to partner with them,” said Christine Shiau, Managing Director, the Stevens Initiative at the Aspen Institute. ....

348 named to Union University President’s List
JACKSON — Three hundred forty-eight students have been named to the Union University President’s List for the fall 2020 semester.
Those who received this recognition include Christy Newsom of Sevierville.
The President’s List includes full-time students who achieve a 4.0 grade point average on a four-point scale.
Founded in 1823 and affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention, Union University is characterized by quality Christ-centered teaching and learning. Union offers liberal arts training in more than 100 majors and programs of study along with professional programs in business, education and nursing.
About 3,000 students are currently enrolled.

“Integrity, integration, inclusivity, impact and innovation” are the watchwords of Drexel’s new 10-year strategic plan, which was released Dec. 17.
The two-year undertaking is summarized in a brief framework, called “Drexel 2030: Designing the Future,” that outlines the initiatives, values and goals that will guide Drexel through the anticipated challenges of the coming decade.
The plan was drafted against a backdrop of changing trends in higher education, specifically demographic declines in high school graduates and international students, and it was made more urgent over the past year by the closure of Hahnemann Hospital and the acquisition of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, the pivot to remote instruction, and nationwide calls for racial equity. ....
