GREENVILLE Greenville Federal has announced it has donated over $2,000 to local schools in Darke and Miami Counties through their School Spirit Debit Card Program.
The Greenville Federal Spirit Debit Card Program allows its customers to give back to their local school. Customers have the opportunity to purchase a School Spirit Card for $5 and Greenville Federal will then give $3 back to the school on the card. Greenville Federal currently offers School Spirit Debit Cards for Ansonia, Arcanum, Bradford, Covington, Franklin Monroe, Greenville, Miami East, Mississinawa Valley, Newton, Tipp City, Tri-Village, Troy Christian, Troy and Versailles with more schools to be added in the near future. ....

Extension hosts series aimed at female landowners

Land is an expensive and important investment that is often handed down through generations. As such, it should be cared for and maintained to remain profitable for future generations.
Almost half of landowners in Ohio are women. OSU Extension in Champaign and Miami Counties are offering a series designed to help female landowners understand critical conservation and farm management issues related to owning land. It will provide participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to talk with tenants about farming and conservation practices used on their land. The farm management portion will provide an understanding of passing land on to the next generation and help establish fair rental rates by looking at current farm budgets. ....

This evening, as snow showers continue through the region, the National Weather Service in Wilmington reported.
We may see up to an inch of snow, but as the skies grow darker, visibility may be low. Cold temperatures may cause slick spots as temperatures drop below freezing. The NWS advises motorists to be alert of rapidly changing visibility and slick spots.
