Indoor weddings and other catered events in Philadelphia will be cleared to resume next week, City Health Commissioner Thomas Farley said Tuesday, and more diners will be allowed in city restaurants and seated at each table.
The rate of new cases of the coronavirus decreased in the city in the last week after a recent surge in cases, making it possible to further ease restrictions, Farley said. Still, he urged residents to continue holding events outdoors when possible and to get the COVID-19 vaccination. ....

Faulty HVAC may have led to 8 children contracting COVID in Penn Valley Elementary

LOWER MERION Lower Merion School District officials are reporting that faulty HVAC equipment might have contributed to eight students and two vaccinated family members contracting the COVID virus.
According to district officials, eight students in one second-grade classroom and two vaccinated family members at Penn Valley Elementary School have tested positive for the COVID virus.
Beyond this one second-grade class, the district said they have not seen any other evidence of in-school transmission in Penn Valley.

In a letter sent out to families after learning about the positive cases, the school district operations department launched an investigation into the outbreak. ....
