Wundersame Verwandlung: Forscher haben Wasser erstmals metallische Eigenschaften verpasst – ohne Hochdruck und bei Raumtemperatur. Gelungen ist dies durch einen raffinierten Trick: Sie ließen im Vakuum Wasserdampf auf einem Tropfen flüssiger Alkalimetalle kondensieren. Die Einwanderung von Elektronen aus dem Metall verlieh der dünnen Wasserschicht daraufhin kurzzeitig die Leitfähigkeit und das Aussehen eines Metalls: Der Tropfen bekam einen Goldglanz.
Metalle besitzen eine gute Leitfähigkeit, weil ihre delokalisierten Außenelektronen sich frei im Atomgitter bewegen können. Anders ist dies bei destillierten Wasser: Weil die Außenelektronen der beteiligten Atome fest gebunden bleiben, ist reines Wasser ein nahezu perfekter Isolator. Um es leitend und damit metallisch machen ....

On Monday, federal and local officials held a press conference to announce the arrest of Darnell Jackson in an alleged murder for hire plot.
PHILADELPHIA - Authorities announced federal charges in a murder-for-hire plot stemming from a collaborative investigation launched under the All Hands On Deck initiative.
Darnell Jackson, also known by his street name Major Change, 47, is alleged to have orchestrated a murder-for-hire plot stemming from an ongoing state narcotics investigation.
In court filings unsealed Monday, it is alleged that on Monday, July 19 Jackson told an individual that he was willing to pay $5,000 to have someone murdered. ....
