At least seven bowls will be available to Pac-12 teams in the 2021 college football season, although the bowl game scheduled for the San Francisco Bay Area does not have a site or a date yet and is in limbo.
The schedule for all 44 bowls to be played following the 2021 season was released this week.
The Pac-12 will get at least one berth in the six selection-committee bowls, probably the Rose Bowl, and could get a second berth in one of the other five elite bowls the two College Football Playoff semifinal games (Cotton and Orange bowls), plus the Peach, Fiesta and Sugar bowls. That would give the Pac-12 an eighth bowl berth. ....

Texas-San Antonio football coach Jeff Traylor has tested positive for COVID-19, leaving his status in doubt for the First Responders Bowl against No. 16 Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday in Dallas.
If Traylor is unable to coach, associate head coach/offensive coordinator Barry Lunney Jr. will direct the Roadrunners (7-4).
The school said Traylor was notified Wednesday about a positive test. He has not experienced symptoms and is in self isolation.
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry was placed on the COVID-19 list. ....

(CEDAR HILL, TEXAS) Seven former Cedar Hill High School football team players, all of whom are collegiate wide receivers, will compete in their respective college football bowl games in the State of Texas, including six in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
“We’ve had a really good group of kids come through Cedar Hill,” Cedar Hill Wide Receivers Coach Kevin Benjamin said. “We coach them the right way and set them up for success. It is a great opportunity for these guys to come back close to home and play close enough for their families members to possibly see them play.” ....

The University of Louisiana football team is headed to Dallas.
The No. 19-ranked Ragin’ Cajuns will taken on UTSA from Conference USA in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 26, in Dallas, Texas. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m. on ABC.
The postseason bowl appearance will be the 10th in program history and the third-straight under head coach Billy Napier. UL lost to Tulane 41-24 in the 2018 Cure Bowl and then defeated Miami of Ohio 27-14 in last season’s LendingTree Bowl.
UL and UTSA will be meeting for the first time on the gridiron when they square off in Dallas at Gerald Ford Stadium on the campus of Southern Methodist University. ....
