A reader suggested I visit a place near Pioneertown a place I would find very interesting.
I like interesting places, and I’m familiar with Pioneertown. A few years back, Laureen and I played a couple of characters in a low-budget western film that utilized the 1880s-themed town.
Pioneertown is where all sorts of Hollywood Western legends filmed movies and TV shows. It’s situated about 67 miles southeast of Victorville off Highway 247. The likes of Roy Rogers, Russell Hayden and Gene Autry, to name a few, were almost locals there. Rogers and Hayden also happened to be some of the original developers and investors. Rogers enjoyed nothing more than bowling at the Pioneer Bowl between shoots. ....

Circles Around The Sun Confirm June 2021 Concerts In California

Circles Around the Sun will follow a run of tour dates in California on Thursday and Friday with more socially distanced concerts in The Golden State next month. The quartet announced June performances in San Francisco, Big Sur and Pioneertown.
The instrumental band features bassist Dan Horne, keyboardist Adam MacDougall, drummer Mark Levy and guitarist Scott Metzger. CATS’ May shows are their first West Coast gigs with Metzger and first live, in-person concerts since the pandemic began.

Circles Around The Sun begin the June run with early and late shows at The Chapel’s Outdoor Stage in San Francisco on June 3. Then, the four-piece plays Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur on June 4 before they are currently scheduled to end the excursion at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown on June 6. ....
