Armijo graduate serves as lead winemaker at Tolenas Winery
SUISUN VALLEY Lisa Howard wanted to run away as fast and as far as she could after finishing up at Armijo High School.
She went to Cal Poly and earned an engineering degree. She ended up in Arizona building large irrigation systems for farmers.
It was then her husband told her she was a “fish out of water.”
She returned to Suisun Valley six years ago and now serves as lead winemaker at Tolenas Winery. The house she grew up in – her parents are Steve and Linda Tenbrink – sits next to the winery. ....

Budding paleontologists can now learn virtually about the only active Ice Age urban fossil site in the world that is located at the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles.
“It is a very dynamic place,” said Agnes Novie, coordinator, school programs for 10 years at the La Brea Tar Pits. “It is a pretty special place to be.” ....
