Amid the high fatalities in the ongoing second wave of Covid-19, Delhi government has decided to extend lockdown in the national capital Delhi by another week till May 17, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, said on Sunday. It has also made the upcoming leg of lockdown more stringent by announcing that no metro trains service will be there for next one week till May 17.
This is Delhi’s third extension of the lockdown after the initial lockdown was done on April 20 to curb the spread of Covid-19. It was later extended by a week from April 26 and again by a week from May 3. ....

ADVA (FSE: ADV) today announced that its FSP 3000 open line system (OLS) played a key role in a demo showcasing a real-time public safety application. In the METRO-HAUL field trial, AI-based thermal-imaging and pan-tilt-zoom video cameras were used to secure a surveillance area. Advanced video analytics and active camera control require the transport of high-bandwidth video and latency-critical control traffic to a remote control center. Using the ADVA FSP 3000 OLS with flexible micro-ROADMs as well as QuadFlex transponders, the demo featured a programmable metro network with edge nodes for time-critical computing. MEXICO CITY: An elevated metro line collapsed in the Mexican capital on Monday, leaving at least 23 people dead and dozens injured as a train came plunging down, authorities said.
Carriages were seen hanging from the overpass in a tangle of twisted cables with the ends pointing towards the ground in a V-shape. “Unfortunately there are 23 deceased,” including minors, Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum told reporters at the scene in the south of the capital.
Around 65 others received hospital treatment following the dramatic accident, one of the worst to strike the Mexico City metro since it was inaugurated in 1969. Anxious relatives gathered at the site awaiting news of those believed to have been aboard the train. ....

Eleven Nashvillians were chosen to join the new Community Safety Partnership Advisory Board. The group consists of experts in areas ranging from Metro Council to medicine.
The board will provide funding recommendations for more than $1.5 million in grants, which Cooper allocated in March to bolster neighborhood groups working to prevent and reduce violence in Nashville. ....
