NSW's AUD50m bid to make project sunrise a Sydney-only venture

The NSW government secretly offered $50 million to Qantas in exchange for the business making Project Sunrise a Sydney exclusive for five years and retaining its base in the state.
Treasurer Dominic Perrottet tabled the offer, obtained by the
SMH, to the airline’s chief executive, Alan Joyce, which also sought a commitment to no net job losses and the creation of 2,000 full-time roles over the first five years.
Qantas insists the document represents only a “draft offer”, while the NSW government said a final, binding deal has yet to be agreed.
Nonetheless, in May, Qantas announced that Sydney would be the launch city for Project Sunrise – though it remains unclear as to whether this means it would also be exclusive to the city, or for how long. ....

Kingspan roof system achieves double curved geometry at Melbourne Jet Base

Kingspan’s KingZip Linea system met the design geometry intent of the architect during the execution of the Melbourne Jet Base at Melbourne Airport.
Designed by Cox Architecture, Melbourne Jet Base redefines the entry and departure experience for high-profile guests by ensuring privacy and security. The facility has 24-hour access to the runways and a large main hangar that can house up to 18 private aircrafts.
The impressive roof of Melbourne Jet Base is inspired by the wing form. Seeking a roof system that could achieve their design geometry intent, Cox engaged Kingspan for technical support.
Kingspan worked closely with Cox to ensure the double curved geometry of the roof design was within the capability of the KingZip Linea system. The KingZip product was roll-formed on site in lengths of up to 65m, resulting in a concealed fix standing seam roof with no joints. ....
