Jeff Jarrett recently appeared on the “My World” podcast, where he discussed how TNA was formed, who came up with the TNA name, and more.

On how TNA was formed:
“We agreed really early, day one, that it (percentage of the business owned) would be 65/35 (Jeff 65, Jerry 35), but it was going to be diluted with investors as time went on, knowing the business strategy of outsourcing where we didn’t have overhead, as little overhead as possible…If I don’t believe in it, why should anybody else believe in it. I’m putting my money up and had no problem doing it…I put up roughly $600,000 and change and he put up $300,00 and change. We got close to the million mark.” ....

'New Jack' dead at 58 – Former ECW pro wrestling star

WRESTLING legend Jerome Young, nicknamed New Jack, passed away on Friday afternoon, according to his wife.
His wife Jennifer Young told PW Insider.com that he passed away in North Carolina where he lived in the recent years.

Young who died at age 58 was a multiple-time team champion when he took part in Extreme Championship Wrestling in 1995.
His title New Jack was inspired by the film New Jack City and fans were chanting it during his wrestling matches in the ring.
Throughout his career, Young was injured numerous times due to his behavior and style that included busting through tables and using weapons in the ring, according to TMZ Sports. ....

In 2010, TNA transitioned into becoming IMPACT Wrestling as the company started to attempt a re-do of the Monday Night Wars by going head-to-head with Monday Night RAW. Former WWE and WCW writer Vince Russo told Wrestling Inc. in 2014 that he came up with the “TNA” name (Total Nonstop Action) as the company’s name.
On the latest episode of 83 Weeks, Eric Bischoff gave his opinion on the original TNA name and how he thought it was a bad idea. Bischoff said the name reminded him of an inappropriate saying and thought it was a terrible idea as a start up company. ....

Kiera Hogan Doesn't Feel Like She Needs to Go to WWE To 'Make It'

Kiera Hogan says that while it’s still the dream, she doesn’t need to have WWE on her resume to feel accomplished. The former Impact Knockouts Tag Team co-champion appeared on the UFC fighter Ashlee “Rebel” Smith’s Sex and Violence Podcast recently and discussed how the wrestling industry has changed to the point that she doesn’t feel like you need to go to WWE to “make it.”
“WWE is definitely the biggest of the big,” she said (per Fightful). “I mean, at one point it was the only big wrestling company around but now in 2021, there’s like a lot of big companies and on TV, you don’t necessarily have to go to WWE to make it per se. That was always my dream growing up because that’s what I looked forward to but I also grew up watching IMPACT. Back then it was known as TNA, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
