The cause and manner of death for a 29-year-old New Freedom woman who was the subject of a massive search last week in York County was gunshot by suicide.
The York County Coroner’s Office released the results Monday of the autopsy performed on Nicole Ebaugh, who had gone missing March 6. Her body was found Friday near the parking lot where she was last seen at the Heritage Rail Trail County Park on Glatfelters Station Road in Springfield Township.
According to York County Coroner Pam Gay, the autopsy showed she died from a gunshot wound to the head. ....

Coroner: Previously missing New Freedom woman s death ruled a suicide

A New Freedom woman who went missing about nine days ago and whose body was found on Friday died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to York County s coroner.
An autopsy on Monday morning at Allentown s Lehigh Valley Hospital determined 29-year-old Nicole Elizabeth Ebaugh died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to Coroner Pam Gay.
After what was described as a thorough investigation, Gay ruled the manner of Ebaugh s death to be suicide, according to a news release issued by Gay s office on Monday afternoon.
Trooper Kevin Kotchka, a state police spokesperson, has said Ebaugh s body was found Friday in the area where the search for her had been concentrated.  ....

An autopsy performed on the body of Nicole Elizabeth Ebaugh ruled her cause of death as gunshot wound to the head and her manner of death to be suicide, according to York County Coroner Pam Gay.
