The Play That Goes Wrong is a riotous comedy about the theater. The play introduces the Cornley University Drama Society, who are attempting to put on a 1920s murder mystery. But as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong…does, as the accident-prone thespians battle on against all odds to get to their final curtain call.
The Play That Goes Wrong began performances at the Lyceum Theatre on March 9, 2017, ahead of an April 2 opening. As of its January 6, 2019, closing, the Broadway production played 27 previews and 745 performances. Directed by Matt DiCarlo, the show opened at New World Stages – Stage 4 on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. It features a Tony-winning set by Nigel Hook, costume design by Roberto Surace, lighting design by Jeremy Cunningham, and sound design by Beth Lake. Poster for the musical Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the musical adaptation of Tim Burton s 1988 film, which premiered on Broadway in 2019, will hit Korea from June 18 to Aug. 8 at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, which is its first run outside of Broadway.
The musical revolves around Beetlejuice, a ghost who lived for 9.8 billion years by himself, and Lydia, a strange and unusual teenager who can see ghosts. As Lydia s family moves to a new house, which used to belong to a deceased ghost couple who were killed in a recent accident, the ghosts try to scare the new inhabitants out of the house. Beetlejuice, who can be summoned by Lydia when she calls his name three times, tries to keep the couple there so that he will not be left alone again.
As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Sutton Foster|Bring Me to Light. Filmed live at City Center, the concert is set to premiere Wednesday, APRIL 28 at 7pm ET, with on demand viewing through Monday, MAY 31. Sutton Foster takes over City Center-filling it with her indomitable spirit for a concert with friends celebrating their connections to the historic theater and reflecting on the challenges facing all of us in this time. Through a collection of solos, duets, and group numbers, the cast enlivens the theater with the hope of things to come.
