Lincolnview Board OKs deal with teachers

Lincolnview teachers now have a new contract in place after action taken on Monday.
The Board of Education formally approved a new three-year deal with members of the Lincolnview Local Education Association during Monday night’s monthly meeting. The contract, which begins July 1 and runs through June 30, 2024, includes annual raises of 2.5, 2.25, and 2.5 percent, plus a memorandum of understanding of 2.5 percent for a fourth year.

VAN WERT COUNTY The highlight of the Lincolnview Board of Education meeting Monday evening was a presentation by Lakyn
Bailey, the daughter of Tyson and Leslie Bailey. Bailey, who will be a
freshman at Lincolnview, baked and sold $500 worth of cupcake pops
towards this year’s “Cupcake War.” She told the Board, I have always
wanted to help the community out and this was an excellent opportunity ....

During his report to the board, Superintendent Jeff Snyder said next Monday and Tuesday’s remote learning days will serve as a test run, in case the district is forced to switch to e-learning because of the coronavirus.
“We just felt that two days of practicing our remote learning, just in case we’d ever have to use it, which we don’t want to use, made sense,” Snyder said. “We also wanted to make sure if we ever had to go to remote learning that our students and parents can check the connectivity with their devices. We have received a grant to purchase additional hot spots, ....

MIDDLE POINT – During the Lincolnview Board of Education meeting on
Thursday, Superintendent Jeff Snyder explained why the district is using
Monday and Tuesday as a remote learning day before holiday break.
“This
is a time for us to practice our remote learning,” said Snyder. “We
have two days before the Christmas holiday and we felt the timing was
right.” ....
