Amazon to open fulfillment center at site of former Sears store, mayor says

Amazon is planning to open another fulfillment center in New Jersey, though this one will be in a somewhat unusual spot the site of a former Sears store.
The approximately 93,000-square-foot Monmouth County location at Seaview Square Shopping Center in Ocean Township is likely to open in October, Mayor Chris Siciliano said Thursday.
Customers will also be able to pick up packages at the center, which is expected to create about 150 to 200 full- and part-time jobs, the mayor said.
“We’re very excited,” Sicliano said. “It’s a win-win for us and for Amazon. It’s really an ideal spot and it will serve the needs of several communities.” ....
