Houston CVS Pharmacy fills woman's prescription with wrong dosage, suit claims

HOUSTON A woman alleges a CVS Pharmacy in Houston filled her prescription with the wrong dosage which caused her to ingest double the amount of medication she was prescribed.
Edith Johnson filed a complaint May 11 in Harris County District Court against CVS Pharmacy Inc., CVS Pharmacy Inc., doing business as CVS Pharmacy Store #6238 and others alleging negligence.
Johnson alleges in her complaint that she was given a prescription from her doctor for 500 milligrams of Metformin HCL which was sent to the CVS Pharmacy on West Fuqua Street in Houston on May 14, 2019. She claims her prescription was mistakenly filled for 1000 milligrams of Metformin HCL which is twice the dosage her physician prescribed. ....

A man was shot to death in the parking lot of a club in southeast Houston.
The incident happened around 1:46 a.m. Thursday at the Red Rooster Club on West Fuqua Street and Almeda Road, authorities said.
Police said they were called out to the scene after reports of gunshots. When they arrived, they found the 35-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot. Police said he was given CPR but did not survive his injuries.
Investigators said there was an altercation inside the club, which escalated and ended in gunfire in the parking lot. ....

Houston police responded early Thursday, Dec. 31, to a fatal shooting in the parking lot of a club. A 35-year-old man was pronounced dead.OnSceneTV
A man was shot and killed early Thursday in the parking lot of a southwest Houston night club, officials said.
Officers responded around 1:40 a.m. to the Red Rooster club near West Fuqua Street and Almeda Road, where they found a shooting victim, said Detective D. Stark with the Houston Police Department. The 35-year-old man died at the scene from a gunshot wound.
Authorities believe there was an altercation inside the club that spilled out into the parking lot where the shooting occurred, Stark said. No witnesses have come forward, even though the club was pretty active, the detective said, and no suspects have been identified. ....
