The moments leading up to the death of a man accused of waving a handgun on a VIA Metropolitan Transit bus were revealed in a report to the Texas Attorney General’s Office.
On April 20, a passenger called police to report that a man was tapping a gun on one of the windows on bus #553, according to the report. The passenger made the call about 3:50 p.m. after getting off the bus. The man was later identified as Terry Wayne Bishop.

In less than a week, there have been four officer-involved shootings in San Antonio. All four incidents resulted in at least one fatality.
Below are details of the recent officer-involved shootings:
April 15
A San Antonio Park Police officer is credited with stopping a potential mass shooting at the San Antonio International Airport. According to police, a man, later identified as 49-year-old Joe Gomez, was driving the wrong way on the lower level terminal and was stopped by Park police officer John Maines. Gomez then got out of his vehicle and began shooting at bystanders and the officer, police said. Maines returned fire, hitting Gomez twice. Police initially said that Gomez was killed by Maines, but the Bexar County Medical Examiner s office said Gomez died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Over the last week, San Antonio law enforcement agencies have been involved in four separate fatal shootings, two of them occurring on the same day. In at least three cases, officers were returning fire.
The most recent shootings happened within two hours of each other Tuesday, with the first occurring about 4 p.m. on a VIA bus and the second at a home on the South Side.
