The Moderna Covid-19 vaccine is the third jab to be rolled out in the UK, behind Pfizer in December and Oxford/AstraZeneca in January.
Its UK rollout began on Wednesday, with people in Wales the first to start having the jab.

Phase three study results suggested vaccine efficacy against the disease was 94.1% with the Moderna jab, against severe Covid-19 this was more positive still at 100%.

Today, the first Moderna vaccine will be administered in the UK, with the first of the doses allocated to the West Wales General Hospital in Carmarthen. A further total of 5,000 doses have also been distributed over other vaccination centres. A 24-year-old carer has become the first person in the UK to receive the Moderna vaccine as it becomes the latest jab used in the country s vaccination programme.
Elle Taylor, from Ammanford in Wales, who is an unpaid carer for her 82-year-old grandmother, received the vaccine this morning.
I m very excited and very happy, she said. I m an unpaid carer for my grandmother so it is very important to me that I get it, so I can care for her properly and safely.

Dr Maggie Wearmouth, who sits on the JCVI, has today called for Oxford jabs in the under-50s to be paused while blood clot links are probed.
She told the Telegraph: The issue is about safety and public confidence. We don t want to cover anything up that we feel that the public should be knowing.
We don t want people to lose confidence and the vaccine to stay in fridges.
But we don t want people to feel they have been falsely reassured either.
