It s equipped with 12 ultra-fast chargers.
The site is located at MOTO’s brand-new Rugby services at Junction 1 of the M6 and offers a total of 12 ultra-fast charging stalls (350 kW each). The chargers were supplied by Tritium.
It s a game-changing for Electric Highway, which entered into the EV game early, but then fade behind with old 50 kW chargers and not too high reliability.
Now, the old chargers to be replaced with new ones (more reliable, higher power and with two power outputs), and on top of that the company will install new 350 kW ultra-fast chargers (6-12 per site). ....

A new service station on the M6 will be opening its doors on April 30 creating more than 100 jobs for the region.
Located at Junction 1 for Rugby, the services are the UK s flagship electric vehicle charging motorway services, offering 24 rapid-charging points.
Ran by Moto, the points will allow for vehicles to gain 100 miles of charge in less than five minutes. ....

The largest high-powered electric vehicle charging station on the UK motorway network has opened today (30 April) at Moto’s new Rugby Services.
The development, featuring 24 chargers with up to 350kW of power, is part of a wider roll out to cater for the transition to electric vehicles.
The project is part of a multimillion investment programme to deliver electric vehicle charging to motorway services across the UK. It is the first high power installation by the Electric Highway – – the world’s first nationwide electric vehicle charging network – under its new partnership with Gridserve. ....

Gareth Owens, chair of Kirby Hill RAMS, says: “We feel the thing that has changed here is the planning system, not the facts. After 25 years of playing the game and having it refused, you have to ask the question; what has changed?”

The objections of local residents have not altered over the past 25 years since the first application was submitted back in 1996 – they believe that having a development close to the size of their own village nearby will harm the rural area in which they live. That those concerns have foundation was accepted in part by Mr Rose’s decision, which “acknowledged that the proposed development would cause some harm to the character, appearance, and visual amenity of the area”. ....
