Port Huron man arraigned on murder charge after body found at house fire

View Comments A 27-year-old Port Huron man was arraigned Tuesday after the body of a 28-year-old Port Huron woman was found at the scene of a structure fire Saturday morning. Dustin Tucker is charged with open murder, second-degree arson and unlawful imprisonment. He is being held without bond. Tucker faces up to life in prison if convicted of open murder.  Second-degree arson has a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine or three times the value of property damaged or destroyed. The charge of unlawful imprisonment carries a maximum sentence of 15 years and a $20,000 fine. Port Huron police officers initially responded to the 1800 block of Division Street at 8:16 a.m. Saturday, along with the Port Huron Fire Department on a fire investigation. The caller indicated smoke in the house and a body.

Woman arraigned Friday for allegedly ramming another vehicle with her own

Port Huron Times Herald A woman who allegedly rammed another vehicle with her own was arraigned Friday on felonious assault and other charges.  Abigail Barnes, 25, of Port Huron, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, false report of a felony, assaulting/resisting/obstructing police, driving recklessly, domestic violence and driving with an invalid license.  Her bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety.  If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of four years in prison and/or a $2,000 fine.  Shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday, police officers responded to the area of Gillett and 11th streets for a report of a property damage accident, Port Huron Police Lt. Jeremy Young has said.
