"Urgent action needed now": More than 100 companies demand more renewables

More than 100 Australian businesses have combined to issue a joint call for stronger government investment in renewable energy uptake and support to establish an export industry for zero emissions energy.
The group has been drawn together from across the technology, finance, property, and construction industries and is calling for governments to ramp up spending on clean energy and to establish dedicated industrial precincts to help industries switch to zero emissions sources of power.
The joint letter has been facilitated by WWF Australia, as part of its ongoing ‘Renewables Nation Campaign’, and says Australia should be looking to position itself as a leading global supplier of clean energy. ....

Unilever is removing the descriptor normal from its soaps, shampoos and other personal care brands, saying the word is not inclusive and has a negative effect on people .
The word normal is often used to describe what type of skin or hair – such as normal, dry, fine or oily – is recommended for a particular beauty product.
The British-headquartered multinational, which owns brands including Dove, Sunsilk and TRESemmé and sells products in some 190 countries, made the announcement this week that it would be removing the word normal from all of its advertising and packaging all over the world . ....
