A social activist on Sunday withdrew the complaint that he filed against former Karnataka minister Ramesh Jarkiholi for allegedly sexually harassing a woman in return for a government job, India Today reported.
Dinesh Kalahalli’s lawyer claimed his client took the decision because the woman’s image was being tarnished on social media. He added that the activist will not bow down to political pressure.
Purported videos of the unidentified women and the minister, as well as some telephone conversations, were shared on social media last week. The videos were also aired by Kannada news channels. Kallahalli had submitted a CD of all the video and audio clips to the police. ....

BENGALURU: In a major embarrassment to the Yediyurappa-led BJP government in Karnataka, a CD purportedly showing water resources minister Ramesh Jarkiholi seeking sexual favours from a woman emerged on Tuesday.
The CD, whose veracity could not be independently verified by TOI, was released to news channels by a social activist, Dinesh Kallahalli, who has lodged a complaint with the Cubbon Park police. Kalahalli also met Bengaluru city police commissioner Kamal Pant and sought protection for the woman.
“I’m shocked and pained. The incident is part of a larger conspiracy against me,” Jarkiholi said. “A third party. filing a complaint against me indicates it was being done at someone’s behest. I won’t resign till charges are proved. I will hold a press meet to clear the air.” ....

Karnataka Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, who is embroiled in a sex tape case, has resigned from BS Yediyurappa s Cabinet, news agency ANI reported. In his letter to CM Yediyurappa, Jarkoholi stated that allegations leveled against him are not true and that he is resigning from the ministerial berth on moral grounds.
