Thursday, May 6, 2021 - 6:19 pm OGDENSBURG Governor Andrew Cuomo proclaimed May 4, 2021 as Health Care Auxilian Day to recognize the dedicated auxilians who annually donate more than 500 million hours of service to health care facilities and communities. The Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary is celebrating 70 years of support this year. The CHMC Auxiliary will hold their annual dinner later this fall to honor and celebrate the work and support auxilians provide throughout the year. The Auxiliary will also join the medical center with some celebrations to celebrate National Hospital Week. During the past year of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Auxiliary of Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center had to really think outside the box on fundraising for 2020 and that they did, said Colleen Anderson, publicity chair. ....
Tuesday, May 4, 2021 - 1:17 pm OGDENSBURG A spaghetti dinner fundraiser takes place tonight from 4 p.m. until sold out at the Elk’s Lodge, 332 Caroline St. The meal includes homemade spaghetti and meatballs, Italian bread and tossed salad for $10. People can eat at the lodge, take it to go, or have it delivered locally. There will also be desserts for sale and a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds support the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary. OGDENSBURG Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Foundation received a $100,000 donation from the CHMC Auxiliary for the construction of the Children’s Mental Health Unit at CHMC. “Inpatient psychiatry services for children and adolescents is a growing need in the North Country. At Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, when we see a child or adolescent in the Emergency Department who requires more than outpatient care, we are forced to wait for an open space in one of the few hospitals in the state who offer inpatient children’s mental health,” said Randy Fipps CHMC Administrator ....
