Helix Water District board to discuss changing meeting times

Two of the three Helix Water District board meetings, scheduled for 5 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month, may be moving to their old start time of 2 p.m. The five-member governing board that oversees the district that provides water to much of East County will have a formal discussion on the matter at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
If approved, the change to 2 p .m. will be effective starting with the board’s March 17 meeting. The district’s third monthly board meeting, held on the fourth Wednesday of each month, will stay at its current time of 3 p.m., with an adjournment time no later than 5 p.m. ....

San Diego Christian College hosts a free seminar at 3 p.m. todayfor junior high, high school and college parents on how to approach 2021 with a new outlook on online learning. The one-hour event will feature practical tips on how to set up students for success in their online studies, how to balance work and supporting your student, and how to overcome challenges. The seminar will include tips from a panel and a Q&A with the virtual participants. The panel features Dr. Kevin Corsini, president of San Diego Christian College; Dana Moen, principal of Classical Academy High School; and Marlena Smith, who has spent 20 years working with youth and in education.
