PAYETTE â As the Western Treasure Valley has grown in population in recent years, officials on the Payette Airport Commission are working with the Payette City Council to plan growth at the Payette Municipal Airport around that growth. Specifically, the two parties aim to ensure adequate standards for parties looking to set up hangars at the airport. âThey basically would like to a little bit more of a written policy for hangars ⦠we really donât have a plan for where you put hangars,â said Councilor Ray Wickersham. In her agenda statement to the council dated April 30, deputy city clerk Bobbie Black noted the commissionâs aim to clarify what private parties can and cannot do with their hangars in the cityâs âMinimum Standardsâ rules. The commissionâs proposed changes appeared on the agenda for the councilâs regular meeting on May 3. ....
PAYETTE â Even though the Kiwanis Youth Lodge in Kiwanis Park has seen plenty of work since the Payette Kiwanis Club and Payette city officials signed their agreement for its restoration in 2017, there remains one more task to be done before the public can use it: The bathrooms. The lodgeâs old facilities were removed as part of the lodgeâs renovation, as they did not comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. During the Payette City Councilâs discussion during its regular meeting May 3 on funding this project, Councilor Ray Wickersham brought up a request he had previously made on behalf of the club, asking for help with its $10,000 price tag. Mayor Jeff Williams recalled conversations held between himself, Wickersham, city clerk Mary Cordova and deputy city clerk Bobbie Black. ....
PAYETTE â A Payette landmark is getting a new lease on life thanks to several Kiwanis Club of Payette alumni. The former Kiwanis Youth Lodge, situated in Kiwanis Park near the Payette Public Swimming Pool, is approaching the finishing stages of a major overhaul carried out by KIwanis alumni  who include Payette City Councilor Ray Wickersham. Wickersham provided the newspaper a tour of the lodge on Monday, as he shared some of the buildingâs history and some of his own memories at the lodge growing up. He said his role in the project is a liaison between the Kiwanis club and the Payette City Council. ....
PAYETTE â After months of searching for a recreation director to reopen the Payette Public Pool and create more recreational opportunities for Payette residents, city officials have announced the selection of Tiffany Weimar as the cityâs new recreation director. âMs. Weimar graduated from Payette High School and participated in many athletic activities,â wrote Mayor Jeff Williams in an email on Friday. âPrior to accepting this position, she served as an administrative assistant at Capitol Financial Solutions in Payette and is a personal trainer at Trifecta Gym. Recently she also spent time as the [junior varsity] softball coach for Fruitland High School. Tiffany brings experience and a proven track record of success in the Recreation/Fitness area, which will be invaluable in meeting the departmental goals and objectives.â ....
