NMCG organises session as part of 5th India Water Impact summit ANI | Updated: Dec 13, 2020 22:33 IST New Delhi [Indai], December 13 (ANI): A session on Digital Water was organised as a part of the 5th India Water Impact Summit by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) and the Center for Ganga River Basin Management and Studies (cGanga), according to an official statement on Sunday. Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, Director General, NMCG said, we are glad that our efforts are being recognised by the international fraternity now. He attributes the success of the Namami Gange Mission to his team, volunteers, academicians and many self-help organisations who are working continuously towards the cause of cleaning Ganga and her tributaries under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of the Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Jal Shakti. ....

Beauchene, Senior Water and Sanitation Specialist at IBRD, said the bank is very proud of all the work done in India. Who would have thought five years ago that 550 million people will stop defecating in the open in India, an official statement quoted Beauchene as saying. He was referring to the Swachch Bharat Mission under which a massive programme was undertaken to build toilets across the country. He made the comments at a discussion organised by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) and the Centre for Ganga River Basin Management and Studies (cGanga) as part of the ongoing 5th India Water Impact Summit. ....
