Golf Place, which is within putting distance of the historic Old Course at St Andrews, has been knocked from the top spot in the latest list of the country’s 25 most exclusive places to live. The prime location in Scotland’s golfing capital, which has topped the annual Bank of Scotland list for the past three years, now comes in second place behind Regent Terrace in Edinburgh. A home in this coveted capital address, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site with city views across Edinburgh, has an average price of £1.75million, just above Golf Place, with its average house prices of £1.73million. ....

Homes in Earls Gate in Bothwell, a favourite with famous footballers, sell for an average price of £1,171,000 while properties situated on Manse Road in Bearsden list for around £1,162,000. Peel Road in Thortonhall also made the list which was topped by Edinburgh’s Regent Terrace where the average house price is £1,756,000. The research was carried out by the Bank of Scotland. Ricky Diggins, Director at Bank of Scotland, said, “Edinburgh is a stunning city and it comes as no surprise that it continues to lead the way in Scotland’s prime property market with its historic architecture and large array of luxury addresses in various streets throughout the city.
