Seven hundred and thirty eight days ago, Willie Nelson stood on the main stage at the BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach. The sun had just gone down over King Harbor, forming a spectacular, multi-hued backdrop behind the legendary singer that, like the festival itself, seemed almost too joyous to be real.
Musical highlights were many. Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson joined Grateful Dead tribe elder Bob Weir to close out Friday night. Beach Boys Brian Wilson and Mike Love closed out Saturday, where it had all begun for them more than a half century ago, reaching a point of harmonious delirium as they sang “Surfin’ USA” and particularly the lyric, “Haggerty’s and Swami’s/Pacific Palisades/San Onofre an ....

As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has devastated local businesses of all sizes and throughout all industries. As owner of The Londoner salon, I know first-hand the immense and seemingly never-ending struggles of just having to keep the doors open and my staff employed. And though I personally do not agree with the current limits on (personal) service-based industries, I understand the need to help protect the community as a whole, which is why I am writing this letter.

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (KABC) Tiny homes could be one of the solutions to a big problem in Southern California.
The homeless population in Redondo Beach is estimated to be under 200 people - small when compared to other cities in Southern California, but city officials want to experiment now with ways to meet a growing need.
We have had an increasing homeless problem and we needed a solution, said Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand. And we really didn t want to just wait and see what happens, we wanted to take a proactive approach.
