It feels like just yesterday my co-workers and I were making trips out to Rollingstone Community School, photographing students caring for gardens, experimenting with iPads, learning how to use a compass, and listening to tales of the old Luxembourg tradition of Saint Nicholas. Winona charter schools find new authorizers (2/3/2021)
Bluffview Montessori School and Ridgeway Community School are one step closer to having new charter school authorizers after the state revoked the authorizing status of their current authorizer, Winona Area Public Schools (WAPS). New authorizers have accepted the charter schools’ applications, and the schools and authorizers are now waiting for approval from the state. By law, each charter school in the state must have an authorizer with whom it has a contract outlining performance expectations. As the most up-to-date unofficial 14-day case rate stands at 38, Winona County ....

These last few months have been a rollercoaster for everyone. We are tired, and we miss our students. Our students miss the classroom, their friends, and just the overall school experience. We all are longing for a sense of normalcy. Our holiday wish this year is to keep our students back in school after the New Year, safely. While we are doing everything possible to create a safe environment for our students to thrive and learn, we can’t do this alone. ....
