The BBC soap enlisted the help of Mind to accurately depict Isaac's condition on screen by providing guidance to writers, producers and actors. The charity also gave its insight into the life of those living with schizophrenia and how mental health issues are dealt with inside African Caribbean communities. Isaac (Stevie Basaula) previously shared his diagnosis with his dad Patrick (Rudolph Walker) after first confiding in Lola (Danielle Harold).
