Redwood City Police arrested a 38-year-old man suspected of carjacking in the early morning of Saturday, July 17, not far from Facebook s headquarters in Menlo Park.
Around midnight on Saturday, Redwood City police officers got a report of a carjacking at 1405 Marshall Street, according to a Monday, July 19, statement.
A driver and passenger were parked in front of the apartment building, police said. When the driver left the car to go into the complex, the passenger was approached by a man with a gun who forced him from the vehicle. The suspect drove off, heading southbound on Marshall Street toward Chestnut Street, according to the statement. ....

A fixture in the Bay Area music community has been damaged by what police suspect to be arson.
An early Wednesday morning fire torched The Record Man, a Redwood City record shop that houses more than a million vinyl records and a wealth of CDs and vintage video games. Redwood City firefighters extinguished the fire later that morning, but not before it caused major damage to the exterior, police said.
It also caused significant water and smoke damage to the building’s interior but fortunately left most of the records inside unharmed. ....

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - A suspect in an attempted armed robbery was arrested Tuesday night following a 14-hour standoff, Redwood City police said.
Two men standing in the garage area of an apartment complex were approached by another man who demanded a beverage from them and then took a black semi-automatic pistol from his waistband and pointed it at them, police said.
The suspect did not follow when the would-be victims ran away.
The men identified Domingo Molina, 37, from a photo line-up. ....
