This documentary looks at approaches to fighting multiresistant strains of bacteria. Each year 33,000 people in Europe die after becoming infected with bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. Hygiene specialist Dr. Ron Hendrix has been working for years to prevent outbreaks of infectious disease in hospitals. Dr. Hendrix says that he and other experts in the Netherlands recognized early on that they d have to fight the spread of bacteria just as actively as they would the actual infection. Hendrix has convinced a number of German hospitals to re-open their diagnostic laboratories, as well. In the early 2000s, many of these labs had been shut down as a cost-cutting measure. And farmers in Denmark voluntarily chose to sharply reduce their use of antibiotics, after evidence showed that intensive livestock farming caused multiresistant bacteria to multiply. Arsenio Romero selected as Los Lunas superintendent

After looking for a new superintendent, the Los Lunas Board of Education finally made its choice on Monday.
Arsenio Romero, Ph.D. currently the superintendent and chief executive officer of Deming Public Schools, has been named the new superintendent after a unanimous vote by the Los Lunas Schools Board of Education.
Romero will start his new job on Jan. 18, and his contract with Los Lunas Schools is for two years, and with a starting salary of $160,000.
âI am very excited about it. This is something that is . an amazing thing because Iâm able to come back to the community I grew up in,â Romero said. âIâm very much looking forward to the great people in the community and the great school system. And Iâm lucky to be able to be a part of it now.â ....

Los Lunas Board of Educations selects three finalists for superintendent position

The Los Lunas Schools Board of Education finalized its shortlist of candidates for the superintendent position on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
The three remaining candidatesÂ â Ron Hendrix, Dr. Arsenio Romero and Katarina SandovalÂ â will come before the board on Monday, Dec. 14, in an executive session for a second interview before a new superintendent is chosen.
There will be two special meetings on Monday, however. At 9 a.m., the board will meet to approve questions for the candidates for superintendent before interviewing them in a closed session. Later that day, at 5:30 p.m., the board will vote to appoint a new superintendent. ....
