If you re in the market for a mid-engine Corvette but the new C8 just doesn t do it for you, we may have a solution. A dealer in Georgia is selling what appears to be the very last Pratt & Miller-built Corvette Daytona prototype.
Daytona prototypes were top-level race cars built to compete in the Rolex Sports Car series starting in 2012 before being adapted to race in IMSA from 2013 to 2015. Though they re not directly related to any production Corvette, Chevrolet factory backing meant a Corvette fascia and branding. This one, according to the ad on Facebook Marketplace, was a spare for the Action Express team, and was never actually used in any in-period races. The listing says the car has been used as a track day toy since 2017, with around 2500 miles on the car since it first left the factory. The ECR Engines-built Chevy LS9-based 5.5-liter V-8 and EMCO sequential gearbox are said to be in good health, with the latter receiving a rebuild less than 1000 miles ago. ....
