RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has designated six open spots for sacrifice of animals on Eidul Azha. The cantonment administration has divided the areas in 10 parts where coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be strictly enforced.
The cantonment authorities will provide free services like drinking water for citizens and water needed in slaughtering animals, disposal of offal, shifting of meat. The cantonment administration will dig big ditches at six places to dispose of blood from animals. ....

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), which swept the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) election in 2015, is facing a hard-hitting situation in awarding tickets, due to factionalism, ahead of the September 12 polls.
Two current members of RCB have decided to contest polls as independents while maintaining ties with former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar s group.
In the absence of former senator Chaudhry Tanveer Khan, who had played a crucial role in winning the previous RCB polls for the party, former MNA Malik Ibrahim has started consultations about awarding party tickets. ....

High prices of sacrificial animals keep buyers at bay

Rawalpindi : The high prices of sacrificial animals ahead of Eidul Azha is keeping buyers at bay as despite repeated visits to the animal markets majority returns empty-handed. On the other hand, sellers of sacrificial animals blame high token tax or ‘parchi’ for each animal on their entry into the animal market as one of the reasons behind high prices.
The traders who have brought their animals from different parts of the country have complained that they are made to pay Rs3000 for every bull and Rs1000 for every goat before entering the animal market. They also complained that despite paying taxes they were not getting any facility from the market administrators or contractors. They said that they were buying a water tanker at Rs3000, the sellers said. ....
