Oscars: 'Made a mistake' director laughs off hunk accolade

AFTER missing out on winning an Oscar a director is still proud of the achievement for being nominated.
Brighton-born director Will Becher, 41, was part of the team behind the film Shaun the Sheep Farmageddon which was nominated for an Oscar in the animated feature film category.
The ceremony was split between London and Los Angeles and was treated as a TV production to allow for more people to attend. Attendees did have to wear mask and keep socially distanced. The Academy award went to Pixar’s film Soul, but Will is still happy for the film to gain recognition.

Shaun the Sheep director chuffed with Oscar nomination

A DIRECTOR S much-loved film has been nominated for an Oscar.
Brighton-born director Will Becher, 41, is thrilled that Shaun the Sheep Farmageddon has been nominated for an Oscar in the animated feature film category.
He said: “The nominations were announced three or four weeks ago, and I was in the studio in Bristol animating Shaun when I heard, and I didn’t know what to do with myself because it is the ultimate prize in the film industry.
“It is a long process making a film like Farmageddon with a lot of people involved and a lot of time and energy, so it is a nice reward.” ....
