John Deere: The European investment continues

John Deere established its UK and Ireland headquarters at Langer, Nottinghamshire, in 1966. The site was on the edge of the wartime airfield which had been home to British bombers and US transporters.
The company has now made a further £1.5 million investment in training facilities nearby. The new centre is farm-based and is situated a few miles away in upper Saxondale.
The opening will mark the 30
th anniversary of the company’s first ag-tech apprentice intake, who were enrolled with the company’s original partner, Brooksby Melton College in 1992.

The centre is designed specifically and solely for John Deere dealer apprentices attending the company’s training programmes. ....

But in a searing video that went viral last December, she charged Indiana University Health providers with allowing their racial bias to taint the treatment she received.
Six months after her eventual death from COVID-19, IU Health on Wednesday released the findings of an external investigation into a case that thrust the hospital into an unwelcome spotlight. An external investigation into the COVID-19-related death of a Black woman doctor found that the medical care she received at an Indiana University Health hospital did not contribute to her untimely death.
However, the review by a panel of six outside experts four of whom are Black did conclude that the patient Dr. Susan Moore suffered from a lack of cultural competence on the part of those treating her at IU Health North in Carmel, according to an IU Health statement released Wednesday.
Moore’s case rose to national prominence after she posted a Facebook video that went viral in which she said that racial bias led to her health-care providers ignoring her pain and failing to treat her appropriately. ....
