LAS VEGAS, NV – On April 8, police arrested Chris Okoronkwo, 33, at The Cosmopolitan Casino and Hotel around 5 a.m., after he reportedly punched an elderly man unconscious and stabbed another man.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported:
Police said an investigation showed the two victims went to their hotel rooms with two men and three women they met in the casino. An argument then broke out, causing a Cosmopolitan security officer to respond to the scene. The security officer observed Okoronkwo punch the victim.that man fell and hit his head on a wall, knocking him out. ....

Excitement reigned supreme in and near Madras Monday morning about nine o clock when the residents learned that the storage dam owned by D.M. Clark, located about two miles south of Madras on Willow Creek had been washed out and that the water was coming down on the town. Once or twice before heavy leaks and the overflowing of the dam have frightened the people especially those residing near the creek, and when it was learned that the dam had actually washed out and there was considerable movement apparent. First news was received a few minutes before nine when Mr. Clark mounted on horseback dashed in and began warning residents of the lower parts of town to move. The word spread quickly and in a few minutes people in large numbers were either on their way to the dam to witness the rush of wat ....

The Anchorage School District is expanding its summer school options for students experiencing learning loss from the pandemic, substantially expanding its programs for elementary and middle
school students and offering two sessions instead of one.
“It’s going to be targeted interventions to really help with that catch-up growth,” said Mandy Clark, director of elementary education for the district.
Elisa Vakalis, president of the Anchorage School Board, said all students have been affected by the pandemic, but the gap is even wider for economically disadvantaged students and those with disabilities. ....
