Art and music along the Lincoln Highway are getting a boost, thanks to mini-grants funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Bureau of Recreation and Conservation and administered by the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor.
Westmoreland Cultural Trust received $675 toward creating an interactive video tour of its Art in the Alley project in downtown Greensburg, along with placing plaques referring to the LHHC in the alley itself. ....

Lincoln Highway corridor director steps down

For 25 years, Olga Herbert helped grow interest and the attractions along the local portion of the Lincoln Highway.
Herbert, 73, of Latrobe, recently retired as executive director of the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor, which she helped to found 25 years ago.
According to Herbert, she created the organization in 1996 including: filing articles of incorporation and bylaws; also securing 501c3 nonprofit determination with the IRS; and forming a board of directors who created the bylaws.
She also worked with a designer, engineer, PennDOT and a small committee to fabricate and install over 175 Lincoln Highway roadside signs along the six-county corridor, followed by a 60-page Lincoln Highway driving guide. She added the driving guide will soon be replaced with an app. ....
