Lincolnshire Police carry out drug testing at over 20 coastal bars and pubs
One arrest and several warning letters
A multi-agency operation was carried out in more than 20 bars and pubs in Skegness, Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards, prompting one arrest and several warning letters to youths.
Operation California was launched in Skegness as part of Lincolnshire Police’s aim to prevent violence, anti-social behaviour and to tackle drugs.
Officers and staff from other agencies including East Lindsey District Council carried out searches at bars on the Lincolnshire coast on April 30.
They were supported by a drugs detection dog from the RAF Police, which led to the arrest of a man. He was arrested after cannabis was found in his car and he has since been released under investigation. ....

A Skegness hotel which had its alcohol licence revoked for breaching coronavirus lockdown rules is now up for sale as a freehold with a guide price of £975,000.
The four-storey Grosvenor House Hotel on North Parade in Skegness was found to be open and trading during lockdown in November last year. Police attended and seized CCTV footage, which showed up to 15 customers inside drinking alcohol on November 13 and 14.
Initially hotel owner Russell Sparkes tried telling officers that the people seen drinking were in his social bubble. His excuse soon changed and he owned up to the breach when CCTV was checked. ....

A 44-year-old man from Lincoln is missing for a sixth day and police are extremely concerned for his welfare.
Andrew Arden has been missing since Wednesday, January 27 and police believe he is still in the Lincoln area.
Police said Andrew may have been seen on Monks Road in Lincoln on Thursday, January 28.

He was last seen wearing track suit bottoms, a red hooded top, red trainers and a grey/green jacket. ....

Lincolnshire Police will be given an extra £6.9 million of government funding to fight crime and recruit more officers.
Lincolnshire Police’s funding for 2020/21 stands at £131.5 million, but that is set to rise to £138.4 million for 2021/22, an increase of £6.9 million.
The government’s Home Secretary Priti Patel announced the decision on Thursday in the House of Commons.
It does still mean that Lincolnshire is among the least financially supported police force in England, with just four other forces being given less funding. ....
