Coconino County Opens Vaccinations To Full ‘1B’ Category
Coconino County officials have expanded eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine all residents in the 1B category can now sign up for vaccination. The county had previously prioritized certain groups within the 1B category. 
New groups eligible for the vaccine include food and agriculture workers, power and utility employees, and adults with high risk medical conditions living in shelters and other group settings. Vaccination appointments are available through Northern Arizona Healthcare, along with the Fort Tuthill site. County officials say individuals will be asked to provide proof of their eligibility, though vaccinations are free of charge. A full list of vaccination sites can be found at the county site.  ....

Coconino County Names 12 Candidates To Replace Liz Archuleta In District 2
Coconino County says there are 12 candidates who have qualified to fill the vacancy for District 2 Supervisor following the resignation of Liz Archuleta. The candidates are: Carmenlita Chief, Abel Estrella, Anthony Garcia, Jacqueline Gencarelle, Tommy Hernandez, Carole Mandino, Jesus Molina, Chad Moore, Bill Pribil, Jeronimo Vasquez, Joe Washington and Albert White. The Board of Supervisors will review applications Thursday during a special session at 6 p.m. and will conduct interview in a public forum Friday starting at 8 a.m. The board may select a candidate Friday following interviews or choose to continue the process. Public comment will be taken throughout the process. Comments can be submitted to the board at coconino.az.gov. The winning candidate will serve out Archuleta’s term, which ends in 2022. Archuleta resigned earlier this month to join the Biden Administration. ....

USDA Announces More Key Staff Appointments


WASHINGTON, D.C. (NAFB) – The Department of Agriculture Thursday announced more key staff appointments.
Anne Knapke was named deputy assistant secretary for congressional relations. Knapke was recently a senior program officer focusing on nutrition at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Liz Archuleta was named director in the Intergovernmental affairs office. She served as a County Supervisor for Coconino County, Arizona, where she was the first Latina ever elected to that office.
Jasmine Dickerson was named Legislative Director in the congressional relations office. Dickerson served as staff director for the Subcommittee on Nutrition, Oversight, and Departmental Operations on the House  Agriculture Committee. ....

Anne Knapke was named deputy assistant secretary for Congressional Relations.
Most recently, Knapke was a senior program officer focusing on nutrition at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Prior to working at the Gates Foundation, Knapke served as legislative director for Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn. Knapke holds a bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University and master’s degrees in public policy and social service administration from the University of Chicago.
Liz Archuleta was named director in the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. Archuleta served as a county supervisor for Coconino County, Arizona, where she was the first Latina ever elected to that office in Coconino County.
