Work set to begin on Music Row hotel | Nashville Post

Work is ready to begin at the Music Row site once home to the iconic United Artists Tower and long eyed for a hotel, then an apartment building and, once more, a hotel.
The project will unfold at 50 Music Square W. An investor and development group overseen by hoteliers Jay Patel and Andy Bhakta will undertake work on the seven-story, 132-room hotel building (pictured).
The site previously accommodated the nine-story octagon-shaped United Artists Tower, which the owners had razed in 2019. A permit, valued at $3.09 million, has been issued to allow for framing and foundation work. Southland Constructors is handling the job. ....

Located at 2208 Elliston Place on the so-called Rock Block, the property offers about 0.5 acres. Anthony Rentals and Gene Nash, among others, own the property, having paid $150,000 for it in 1976, according to Metro records.
Of note, Anthony Rentals sold for $2.9 million a separate Rock Block property in July 2020 to an entity tied to Nashville-based developer Tony Giarratana and real estate investor (and long-time Giarratana friend) Marc Stengel. The addresses of the property slated for a major update (read
here) are 2201/2205 and 2209 Elliston Place.

The project, a groundbreaking date for which has not yet been announced, will unfold at
50 Music Square W. An investor and development group overseen by hoteliers Jay Patel and Andy Bhakta will undertake the project, a seven-story hotel building (pictured) with 132 rooms.
The site previously accommodated the nine-story octagon-shaped United Artists Tower, which the owners had razed in 2019. One permit from the Metro Codes Department and approval from the Metro Planning Commission (related to aerial encroachment) are needed for groundbreaking to begin. ....
