LESOTHO National Women’s soccer captain Boitumelo Rabale has said she is delighted after completing a move to South African Football Association (SAFA) National Women’s League champions – Mamelodi Sundowns on a two-year deal. The 24-year-old affectionately known as ‘Queen’, was unveiled by Sundowns on Friday. She returns to the SAFA National Women’s League after a successful spell in the United States of America (USA) where she was named the 2020 Junior College-All American National Women’s Player of the Year after her exploits with Clark and Community College. She has previously captained Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies to the then Sasol League National League Championship in 2016 and 2017. ....
Premier league teams petition PLMC Premier league teams petition PLMC Moorosi Tsiane TEN Premier League teams have petitioned the Premier League Management Committee (PLMC) to address their grievances before the resumption of league games on 15 May 2021. The PLMC met on Wednesday and concluded that league matches must resume on 15 May, thereby giving teams two weeks to prepare. The PLMC informed the teams that the league will resume in a fortnight starting with the catch-up tie between Lifofane and Lioli on 12 May. However, teams are lamenting that the time they have been given to prepare is inadequate. They also want the PLMC to pronounce itself on its plans for the league calendar for the duration of the upcoming COSAFA Cup. Some of the teams are also complaining that they use students who may not always be available for some of the congested matches because of their academic commitments. ....
Phatšoane scores another first Leemisa Thuseho LESOTHO referees’ committee coordinator, Mohau Sentšo, has expressed delight at the recent selection of top assistant referee Souru Phatšoane for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Representing COSAFA, Phatšoane was selected along with South Africa’s prominent central referee Victor Gomes and assistant referee Arsenio Marengula from Mozambique. Sentšo described the selection as “a great achievement” for Phatšoane and the local footballing fraternity. “It is good news for the refereeing department, the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) and the whole country because Phatšoane will be representing Lesotho,” Sentšo said. ....
