H.B. Fuller launches compostable adhesives for flexible packaging

H.B. Fuller has introduced two new compostable adhesives for the flexible packaging market under the Flextra Evolution brand, offering advantages in terms of sustainability goals and manufacturer benefits.
According to the company, the flexible packaging industry is focused on addressing end-of-life issues, such as recyclability and composability. The adhesive holds the entire structure together and, to make the whole package compostable, the adhesive must also be compostable.
The new Flextra Evolution SF1000CP/XR2000CP is a 2K solventless adhesive that offers excellent design benefits, such as sound-dampening and adhesion to a variety of biodegradable film substrates from bar wrap to snack packaging. ....

Konica Minolta Asia appoints Koji Yoshida as MD

Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia has appointed Koji Yoshida as managing director to support the company’s continued investment and growth into the Southeast Asia region.
Yoshida, currently managing director of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Malaysia, will join Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia as managing director. He will replace Osafumi Kawamura, who will return to Japan and take on a new assignment in Konica Minolta (KM).

In his new role, Yoshida will oversee the expansion of KM’s portfolio across 14 markets, including the domestic Singapore market and national sales offices across the Asia region such as Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Indonesia to support the company’s digital transformation initiatives. ....

Tung Lim Press sees increase in production with Bobst flatbed die-cutter

Tung Lim Press recently installed the Bobst Novacut 106 E; this is the third generation of Bobst die-cutters that has been installed at the factory in Selangor, Malaysia.
‘We started out with a Bobst SP 900 machine, which was the very first automatic die-cutter on the market, followed by an SP Evoline 102 E, and since then we have relied on Bobst for all of our die-cutting needs. A link between weight loss and food marketing has been found. Choices of people who are losing weight seemed to be changing, reveals a new study.
Obesity rates have increased dramatically in developed countries over the past 40 years and many people have assumed that food marketing is at least in part to blame. But are people with obesity really more susceptible to food marketing? And if they are, is that a permanent predisposition, or can it change over time?
According to a new study by UBC Sauder School of Business Assistant Professor Dr. Yann Cornil (he/him/his) and French researchers, people with obesity do tend to be more responsive to food marketing but when their weight drops significantly, so does their responsiveness to marketing. ....
