CNHI, LLC is an American publisher of newspapers and advertising-related publications with more than 90 newspapers in 22 states. Each year, the company hosts a Best of competition recognizing those reporters, photographers, and staff who work tirelessly bringing news to their communities. This year, Sentinel-Echo reporter Nita Johnson and sports writer Les Dixon were named Reporter of the Year and Photographer of the Year respectively. Congratulations guys! ....
Jim Zachary VALDOSTA â Valdosta Daily Times Editor Jim Zachary and reporter Bryce Ethridge won top honors in the 2020 Best of CNHI editorial contest. Zachary and Ethridge won awards for columnist of the year. Zachary, who in addition to being The Valdosta Daily Times editor is CNHIâs director of newsroom training and development and president emeritus of the Georgia First Amendment Foundation, won Division I columnist of year. Ethridge is the government reporter with The Valdosta Daily Times. He won Division III columnist of the year for columns he wrote while working for The Moultrie Observer, a sister paper to The Valdosta Daily Times. ....

Pilot project aims to help at home learners without internet Kentucky Educational Television has partnered with the Kentucky Department of Education to launch a pilot project that aims to give stronger support to at home learners without internet access, officials said. KET plans to use datacasting technology to send learning materials through its existing broadcast network to small receiver boxes in homes, the station said in a statement. It has previously used the technology to send emergency information and weather updates. The initiative is set to begin in January. Participants will be provided with a receiver box and antenna, and teachers will be trained on how to upload curriculum into the system. ....
