THREE MILE BAY, N.Y. (WWNY) - Three Mile Bay Fire Department only has 5 certified EMTs to work on its single ambulance. Officials say that’s not enough for the coverage the Town of Lyme needs.
The chief says the lack of volunteers has made for problems.
“It has been progressively getting worse over the last 4 years, and last year I don’t know the exact numbers, but we failed more calls than we felt was comfortable with,” said Chief Justin Bourquin. ....

Plan for bayside RV park sparks battle between Three Mile Bay residents, developers


THREE MILE BAY — There’s a battle brewing between the town of Lyme and a land developer who plans to build an RV park and marina along the shoreline in this small lakeside hamlet.
In January 2018, Jeffrey L. Cohen bought a roughly 45-acre plot of undeveloped waterfront land on Route 12E in the hamlet of Three Mile Bay, on the northeastern side of the town of Lyme.
In August 2018, Mr. Cohen and his wife Marla developed a plan to build a 203-site RV park with a marina, 10 houses and eight multi-unit rental buildings between the highway and the cove for which Three Mile Bay is named. ....

'It's a safety thing': Lyme resident installs stop sign on Klock Road, spars with town over maintenance responsibility | Jefferson County


THREE MILE BAY — When the stop sign at the end of Klock Road disappeared a few weeks ago, Gary R. Stinson, who lives on the road, hoped the town of Lyme Highway Department might replace it.
But now, after weeks of no progress, Mr. Stinson, a former Rodman town supervisor, is taking matters into his own hands.
“I’ve been prepared,” Mr. Stinson said Tuesday. “I’ve got my sign and my sign pole, and I’m going to try to go out tomorrow and set up a stop sign.”
An unexpected snowstorm delayed him slightly, but on Friday — an unusually warm day — Mr. Stinson installed a brand new, 13-foot, reflective stop sign at the intersection of Klock Road and Route 12E. ....
