Dallas County health officials reported that 10 more people died from the novel coronavirus, bringing the countywide total to 2,951 confirmed deaths since tracking began in March 2020.
Health officials said Saturday’s deaths include:
A Dallas man in his 50s who had underlying high-risk health conditions
A DeSoto man in his 50s who had underlying high-risk health conditions
A Grand Prairie man in his 60s who had underlying high-risk health conditions ....

Denton County Public Health is reporting 654 new cases of COVID-19 Friday along with five new deaths and a jump in hospitalizations for the virus.
The latest Denton County victims of the virus include:
A female over 80 who was a resident of Avanti Senior Living in Flower Mound
A female in her 60s who was a resident of unincorporated northeast Denton County
A male in his 60s who was a resident of unincorporated northeast Denton County
A male in his 60s who was a resident of Longmeadow Healthcare Center in Justin
A female in her 70s who was a resident of Longmeadow Healthcare Center in Justin ....

Denton County Public Health says county hospitals are back down to only five available ICU beds Friday afternoon while also reporting another 702 new cases of COVID-19 and three more deaths attributed to the virus.
DCPH reported hospital capacity at 76.2% Friday, an increase of 3% from the day before. DCPH reported a record 162 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Denton County; 37 of those patients are in ICUs. Of the 83 patients in the ICU, 45% are COVID-19 patients. DCPH said there are 213 available beds, five of which are in ICUs. ....

Another 3 Denton County residents dead of COVID-19


Three more Denton County residents were killed by COVID-19, according to a Friday report by Denton County Public Health.
Two were Denton residents in their 70s — one man and one woman — and the third was a woman in her 60s living at Longmeadow Healthcare Center in Justin.
DCPH does not release further identifying information about those killed by the disease.
Confirmation of their deaths raised the county tally to 183 local COVID-19 deaths by DCPH’s count. The Texas Department of State Health Services had confirmed 282 such deaths by Thursday night.
Additionally, DCPH confirmed another 701 locals had tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19. That announcement raised the cumulative countywide total to 33,822 infected locals, of whom 10,746 were estimated to still be infected Friday. ....

Dallas County on Friday reported 2,248 more coronavirus cases, as well as a record number of hospitalizations for the virus. Ten new COVID-19 deaths were also reported.
The latest victims were two Dallas men, in their 50s and 80s; two Grand Prairie women, in their 60s and 70s; two Mesquite women, in their 60s and 70s; a Duncanville man in his 90s; a Garland man in his 60s; an Irving woman in her 40s; and a Richardson woman in her 80s. All but the Irving woman had underlying high-risk health conditions, officials said. ....
