PROVIDENCE President Biden s deliberate use of a single word on Saturday, April 24, Armenian Remembrance Day, gave Armenians around the world something they have dearly wanted for a century.

Martha Jamgochian, vice chairman of the Armenian Historical Association of Rhode Island, said she was outdoors when Biden recognized as genocide the atrocities perpetrated on the Armenians a century ago.

RI homeless woman longs for family but celebrates small victories

I am heading back from an appointment when I see a young blondish woman by a tent near the Job Lot Plaza off Providence’s North Main Street.
It’s set up atop a steep embankment above the access road and it’s clear this is home.
I call up to her from 30 feet below, asking if she’d be open to talking to the Providence Journal.
